Overeem vs. Harris: Heavyweight Main Event
The UFC has set a precedent for how to overcome the odds and provide entertainment for fight fans around the world, amid this turbulent time. With that comes the third card in two weekends, as the dessert to what has been some of the greatest action in the history of the sport. This Saturday is no different, as Walt Harris and Allister Overeem headline the main card in a very unique main event. Overeem needs no introduction. As one of the top heavyweight legends for the last two decades, he’s notorious for his devastating Dutch-style kickboxing, with heavy hands that can turn the lights out with one well-placed punch. Harris is a little newer to the sport, but with an impressive physical figure, and ever-improving performances, he’s definitely someone to keep eyes on later on down the line in the heavyweight division. A unique but essential circumstance will weigh heavily on this fight, with Harris returning to the UFC after experiencing the devastating loss of his step-daughter Aniyah. This will be a huge factor that I believe will give Harris the necessary drive to train for the Legendary striker and be prepared to go to war. Overeem has also suffered several significant losses in his last fights. Although he will go down in history as one of the greatest to lace up the gloves, it will be difficult for Overeem to outwork and out pressure a talented fighter like Walt Harris. I’m going with Harris winning inside the distance with strikes.
