Walker Buehler: Buehler hasn’t been his usually sharp self over the last month (LISO .208; RISO .243), but even then I wouldn’t think about fading him tonight. He gets a ballpark upgrade tonight & a good matchup as he heads to San Francisco for his last start of the regular season. Giants only have two bats with ISOs > .200 & those are Yaz & Dickerson. Aside from those 2, Buehler should be able to avoid any trouble. Despite his recent struggles, Buehler still owns a dazzling K rate of 29% on the season.
James Paxton: My man here has caught FIRE. Over the last month he has been striking out hitters at 31.5% while giving up virtually no power (LISO .067; RISO .029). While as a team TEX does have respectable power vs. LHP (LISO .188), I think Paxton will cruise tonight as TEX K’s vs. LHP 24.8% of the time.
Jose Berrios: Based on talent you would think he’d have no problem overpowering the Royals. However, there are some signs that may point to him struggling tonight. The weather is supposed to increase HRs by 24.3% since the wind is going to be blowing out to RF (Kevin Roth’s WeatherEdge), & Berrios has struggled vs. the Royals this season. Over 3 starts these are his numbers: 20 IP, 10 ER, 12Ks, .270 AVG. I will likely be matching the field on Berrios tonight.
Dakota Hudson: Gets a matchup at home with a depleted Cubs team who have lost 9 games in a row.
