Gerrit Cole: The highest priced pitcher on both sites (FD 12.3; DK 13.0), & we all know it’s for a damn good reason. What Cole has accomplished this season is nothing short of spectacular. He just reached the 300K mark last week & is rocking a K/9 of 13.57 on the season (47.8% K rate over the last month!!). Not that you would be worried about who he is matching up against, but his matchup tonight is with the strikeout heavy Mariners. Fire up Cole without hesitation.
Mike Clevinger: The hitters projected to start for CHW have a combined strikeout % of 29.2%!! *insert laughing crying emoji*. This matchup should bode well for Clevinger considering he has a 31.1% K rate on the season & has owned the White Sox in his 2 starts against them this year. His numbers in those 2 starts: 14 IP, 2 ER, 28!!! K’s, 0.067 AVG.
Jack Flaherty: His rise to joining the elite arms of the MLB this season has been wild. I wish I was making some of these numbers up, but I can assure you that I’m not. The most runs he’s given up in a MONTH over the last 3 months is 8! He has only given up more than 3 runs once in this crazy run (4), & that was in the first start of this crazy streak he is on. To simplify things a little bit here are his numbers in his last 14 starts: 92.1 IP, 1.05 ERA, 21 BB, 113 K. Tonight he matches up with Arizona who’s only feared hitter at the moment in Escobar. Another thing we should be able to take advantage of is his low price over on DK (9.8!), he is the 5th highest priced pitcher on DK tonight.
