Walker Buehler: Far & away has the best matchup on the slate. He goes on the road to face one of the worst teams in baseball, the Orioles. Walker has been striking out hitters at a 31.9% rate over the last few weeks so don’t hesitate to play him today. The only thing I could see throwing people off would be price (FD 11.6; DK 12.3) & ownership.
Trevor Bauer: You are probably wondering why he’s here considering how bad he's been in his last 3 starts. He has failed to surpass 5+ innings & give up less than 4 runs. However, if there is a start for him to get back on track, tonight is the night against the Mariners. All but 1 starter for the Mariners strikes out 20%+ of the time vs. RHP & throughout all of his struggles this season, Bauer K rate (27.5%) has remained steady. He’s priced extremely cheap for his upside on both sites (FD 8.7; DK 9.1), I’m hoping his ownership is low because I will likely go higher than the field on him.
Zac Gallen: Bounced back in a big time fashion his last time out after 2 shaky starts (7 IP, 1 H, 8Ks). Tonight the matchup won’t be as friendly as the last, but he still should be able to deliver a good start. What’s going against him tonight is the weather, the Mets K% against RHP (19.5%) & his price (FD 9.1; DK 11.2). In his lone start vs. the Mets earlier this season he went: 5 IP, 2 ER, 5 BB. & 5Ks. I’m expecting him to be much better this time around as his control has gotten better & his K rate has remained steady as the season has gone on. I’d rather use Gallen over on FD than DK due to his price.
