Mike Clevinger: The best matchup of the early slate & in my opinion the entire day as well. Clevinger features nasty strikeout stuff as supported by his 36.1% K rate & gets a matchup with an inferior Tigers team who struggle vs. RHP. Although the wind seems to be blowing out to left, Kevin Roth’s WeatherEdge model actually have these conditions favoring the pitchers.
Zack Greinke: Ownership is likely to be lower here due to everyone jumping on board with Clevinger & his great matchup. Since coming back to the AL he has done a good job in limiting power (<.150 ISO to both sides) but barely striking out anyone either (14%). Greinke offers a safe floor against this Rays team.
Jose Berrios: Has a good matchup today today with the Sox. I remember the last time I said this when he faced DET it blew up in my face lol. Berrios has been a bit uneven lately & he’s been giving up a lot of power to the left side .334 ISO over the last month (hello, Moncada). However, the upside is definitely there as this CWS team K’s 26% of the time vs RHP.
