Note: The Boogie Factor has officially been launched. I want to give you a better understanding about this metric. It's something that we've been working on since the end of 2019 season. It's a metric that takes every single factor into account. We are talking about EVERYTHING. Exit velocity, Average batted ball distance, weather, stadium, air density, expected wOBA, not only ISO, but expected weighted ISOs, K%, matchup, XwOBA, XFIP, Money Lines, Oddsmakers expectations, etc. There isn't one category that will be unaccounted for. The only * I would put for now, is give it time to soak in a larger 2020 sample and we should be seeing amazing results for the rest of the season.
**We're gearing up for our first 2020 podcast coming soon! (sorry for the delay, just waiting on a shipment to come in). We'll be collecting any questions you may have until then. Here is the place to drop in your Q https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSep3xAZ_gDFKiUmkilpPfBSymkRnc5Gr8jEUZ1oZgfJ-o2w6w/viewform?usp=sf_link
A.Nola: After kicking off the season with a rough start against the Marlins, Nola hasn't looked back & is looking like an ace again. Over his last 3 starts he has pitched 21 innings, K'd 30 hitters (!), & only allowed 2 ER. On the season Nola owns the lowest xFIP I've ever come across 1.24 (granted it's been 4 starts), K% of 39.8%, FB% of 17.9%. Crazy metrics! Tonight he checks in as the #1 pitcher on our BF with a rating of 19.97. He takes on the Braves who's IRT has already dropped 0.4 since the open down to 4.1.
W.Buehler: The team (COL) with the lowest IRT on the slate is the one facing this guy tonight. Buehler hasn't pitched like the ace we know he is, but he isn't far away from having the start to get him rolling again. He's inducing more soft contact this season & his velocity is the same, but he's gotten into trouble this season because he's become quite wild. Instead of striking out more hitters he is walking them now as his BB% has climbed from 4%->11% & his K% has dropped from 29%->21%. With that being said, I'm going to continue rolling w/ Buehler because we know the big start is coming & could be as soon as tonight. Almost forgot to mention he is priced down to 8.5K on FD(!!), it's rare we see an ace like pitcher at this price. Excited to see where ownership comes in here because if it isn't crazy, you know where we'll be.
