MLB Takeoff 9/14: Short & Sweet

Note: The Boogie Factor has officially been launched. I want to give you a better understanding about this metric. It's something that we've been working on since the end of 2019 season. It's a metric that takes every single factor into account. We are talking about EVERYTHING. Exit velocity, Average batted ball distance, weather, stadium, air density, expected wOBA, not only ISO, but expected weighted ISOs, K%, matchup, XwOBA, XFIP, Money Lines, Oddsmakers expectations, etc. There isn't one category that will be unaccounted for. The only * I would put for now, is give it time to soak in a larger 2020 sample and we should be seeing amazing results for the rest of the season.

Plan of Attack

After coming off an action packed Sunday & ready to dive in head first into MLB tonight, DK & FD decided to make tonight's main slate quite different. On tonight's slate we have 3 games on FD & 7 games on DK. FD is only carrying MIN@CHW, ATL@BAL, LAD@SD.

Bauer is clearly the pitcher with the highest ceiling tonight & his ownership is sure reflecting it as he's at 50% right now. His matchup is against the weak hitting Pirates & all he's done as this season is strikeout anyone who strands in his way (K% 36%) so I understand why he's getting all that ownership. However, if you wanted to get some leverage on the field, look no further than Kershaw who is garnering only 18% against the Padres. I get it, the Padres are loaded with good bats but with Kershaw drinking out of the fountain of youth & still making people look silly at the plate (K% 28.2%), I'll happily take my chances with that ownership to gain some leverage on the field. My pitcher ranks for tonight are the following:

J.Luzardo: Facing SEA who struggles against lefties & is priced down to 8.3K.
