MLB Evening Takeoff 6/26 Preview

Primary Arms

Dinelson Lamet: Tonight's four-game slate is very thin on starting pitching and its the Padres right-hander picking up the most ownership on both sites. Coming in as a value in the $7K range, Lamet is getting stretched out little by little with each passing outing and faces an Arizona club that struggles against RHP (.129 ISO, 288 wOBA, 80 wRC+) w/ a 27.2% K rate. It's hard not to like Lamet in this spot, but he'll be very chalky over 50 POWN% on both sites.

Secondary Arms

Alex Wood: Giants LHP Alex Wood is the second chalkiest pitcher on this four-game slate pitching from the comforts of home at Oracle Park against the Oakland A's. The A's are a top five offense against LHP with a .180 ISO and 111 wRC+, but will be without their leadoff hitter setting the table in Mark Canha who was placed on the IL yesterday. Wood's 23.8% K rate is right on par with Oakland that strikes out at a 23.4% clip. POWN% currently over 50 on DraftKings and 30 on FanDuel, which is a little too high for my taste in this spot.

Frankie Montas: Montas opposes Wood for the Giants tonight and faces a club near the top of the league against RHP (.196 ISO, .329 wOBA, 111 wRC+), but San Francisco is without a few key hitters in Belt, Longoria and likely Buster Posey, softening this matchup. Montas strikes out hitters at a 24% clip and should benefit against a club that strikes out a lot vs. RHP (26%). Ownership...
