KBO Takeoff: Looking for Revenge

Primary Pitching Options

Odrisamer Despaigne (KT): My research from yesterday wasn't a complete waste thanks to my boy OD getting another chance to get back on track today. I'll copy paste what I wrote yesterday while also adding that Saladino will likely be out yet again making this subpar lineup an even better matchup for the ground ball machine I call OD.

"So OD has made me look bad the last two times out after straight dominating the first month of the season. And yet, here I go again. This is the classic case of trusting the numbers vs. perception. He's been destroyed the last two times out, but without context it doesn't tell the whole story. His manager for whatever reason left him to the wolves. It was a day he clearly didn't have his A stuff vs. Doosan and they kept him out there. Shame on them. Take a look at the boxscore below and let me know if something looks strange to you. Even with that abonation of a stat line, guess who still has a Top 10 FIP + sub 5 BB%, while only allowing a total of 2 HRs? Yeah, ya boy. There is no greater situation than an above average talent in a plus matchup, going under-owned, & at best being placed as a back burner option."

Only difference is he wont be as under owned as yesterday's near perfect situation.

Ki-young Im (KIA): I’ve grown to like this guy more and more over the last month. Priced at only 7.6 K, I’m likely to be way overweight on Im going up against a subpar team (SK). Im has quietly gone overlooked as a possible Ace in the making. Part of that exclusive 20+% K Club, Im also owns the LOWEST BB rate (3%) in the entire league."Oh but what if he's just getting lucky? Bet his advanced metrics don't like him." Well, his 3.34 ERA and 3.40 FIP are basically neighbors, he's legit. Throw in a great matchup vs. SK and we got ourselves a primary target.
