Zac Gallen (7800 FD, 7100 DK):He's really, really good. I'm sad that the world will soon catch up and his price will sky rocket in the weeks to come. But for the time being we get another game of him priced down. The bad news is that people might end up owning him on account of the low price. The Nationals aren't as tough of a lineup as some may think. They can rake vs. lefties, but vs. righties they are towards the low end of the middle of the pack. They have a projected K% of 23.8%. Gallen was striking out over a third of the batters he faced in the minors this season. He has ridiculous movement on all his pitches and this Washington team will have limited MLB footage of him. GPP elite play. I think in FD theres an opportunity with much less ownership. The vast majority of people tend to play the more expensive options on a 1 pitcher site.
Matt Boyd (9400 FD, 10.0 DK): I've come around on Boyd today after initially overlooking him earlier in the day. I started to dive into his numbers and I will be 0% surprised if he's the highest scoring pitcher after today is done. While he hasn't been as sharp lately, today he faces a Texas team that leads the entire league in K% vs. lefties. It doesn't end there, Boyd strikeouts lefties at a 29% clip, and he's even better against righties (30.1%K). His control has been outstanding this season, walking less than 5% of batters faced. The Rangers are a heavy lefty squad, and guess who has a GB rate of over 60% against that side? Mr. Matt Boyd. GPP and Cash play, all formats.
Framber Valdez (7700 FD, 6900 DK): Such a fantastic price point to go along with a very doable matchup. Valdez has been very good now for the last few seasons of his professional career. He has shown his talent in the Majors already (3.50 xFIP, 3.96 SIERA), and thats with his numbers inflated from his previous start against a Yankees lineup that is honestly impossible to get through these days. His matchup today is against a Pittsburgh team that ranks 28th against lefties in wRC+. They have some decent hitters in that lineup but the majority of them do this damage against RHPs. He'll be in my GPP pool and can be played in cash as well.
